About Cairns & Hickey Wines
Cairns & Hickey Wines was established in
1967 by Ernest Cairns and Jim Hickey who had both
worked for the firm of John Lupton Wine Merchants.
This makes Cairns & Hickey Wines the oldest
established independent wine merchants in the
Leeds area.
Cairns & Hickey was first sited at 17 Blenheim
Terrace Leeds opposite the University and many
of our loyal regular customers started dealing
with us there. |

| In 1980 Jim Hickey retired leaving
Ernest at the helm until 1985 when he was joined
by his son Peter.
In 1991 we moved to our present site in Bramhope
to make more of the retail side of the business.
Unfortunately, Ernest became ill in July 2003 and passed away in the October. He is sadly missed by many in and out of the wine trade.
The company is now run by Peter who holds his Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust,and has over 20 years experience in the wine trade.Our staff pride themselves in there knowledge and expertise without being pompous or snobbish about wine. |

over 40 Malt Whiskies all of which you will be able
to browse on this web site. Added to this we keep
a range of over 100 liqueurs and other spirits and
pride ourselves in being able to track down most
requests for that unusual drink you had once and
loved. |
